Alarm Clock Dimmable Display Bedside Wooden LED Clock 8 x 15 cm USB Powered Triangle Cube Black White Brown | Sansoti

An alarm clock that won’t keep you awake at three in the morning

Most digital alarm clocks have one brightness setting: too bright. You put a book in front of the display or turn it toward the wall, and then you can’t see the time at night. This alarm clock with a dimmable display lets you turn down the LED digits to a soft glow that’s just readable when you open your eyes, while keeping the rest of the room dark. It’s a small item — 8 by 15 cm, about as wide as two electrical outlets — so it fits on a narrow nightstand next to a glass of water and a book. It runs on USB, so there’s no battery dying at half past six.

Why it works beside a bed

• Dims to a soft glow: turn down the digits until they no longer light up the room but are still readable in the dark.
• Large digits: easy to read without reaching for your glasses or phone, which at four in the morning can make the difference between staying asleep and waking up.
• Alarm function: one device for the time and alarm, so your phone can stay outside the bedroom.
• USB power: keeps the time as long as it’s plugged in, with no battery change in the middle of the night.
• 8 x 15 cm: small enough for a narrow nightstand or a wall shelf above the bed.
• Wood in eight finishes: triangle, block, bar, or cube in brown, black, white, or natural, to suit a bedroom rather than an office.

Set up for the night, not for display

Place the clock on the nightstand with the digits facing the bed, not the ceiling, and run the USB cable behind it to the outlet. Dim the display once in complete darkness — that’s when you’ll realize how bright your old alarm clock really was. The wood finish takes away the gadget-like look, making it less conspicuous in a bedroom than a black plastic box with red digits. At 8 cm tall, it stays below the edge of a book or lamp, and at 15 cm wide, it sits securely even on a small table. The USB cable and manual are included, so it’ll be set up properly that same evening.
